ASIAN CARP & OTHER INVASIVES |
The Asian Carp (as well as a few other species) is here to stay. As a former commercial fisherman and present day design expert I see no way that we will ever erradicate it 100%. The next logical solution is to utilize it and market it . Already, enterprising folks in the Mid West are coming up with plans to do just that.
Innovative Net Systems has been down this road before. We have developed gear that was meant for researching and sampling hard to find species. IN the Asian Carp business, trammel net fishing iscurrently the most productive. However, it is also the most laborious. We believe that there may be other ways that will net more fish per man hour.
We have begun work on a series of new and rather unusual looking gears for the capture, en masse, of the Asian Carp. These net designs are based on tried and true commercial gears.... only tweaked to fit in the riverine and back water systems where the Asian carp dwell.
Some of these gears are meant for spot checking while others will hopefully produce larger catches, en masse. Some gear will require larger boats while some will utilize smaller, flat bottom bateau-type rigs. We are looking at a multitude of gears to fit a multitude of divese areas.
If your agency or private company is looking to do some experimental sampling, give us a call. We have the decades of on-the-water and net design experience to help.

Yes, Greg is back to doing on-site work so if need be ( and your budget allows), we'll send him along with your gear.
* Just send him back when you're finished as his hound dogs howl all night long when he's gone*
