This is approximately 1200 lbs. of adult Asian Carp caught in less than 10 minutes with the Model "E" 12x5 Paupier Net System.

This is the culmination of over 9 years of trial and error with a collaboration between the USFWS/ Columbia, Mo. office and Innovative Net Systems.
The vessel shown here can take the same amount of Asian Carp in a 24 hour period as ANY 5 commercial gill netters ( Combined) and their multiple 1200' sets of nets.

Judging by the results of the last 12 years of chasing Asian Carp, I.N.S. has made a few discoveries.
- For one , they are faster than most open-ocean pelagic fish!
- They have a serious lateral line and sensory array for eascaping ANY net system
- Gill nets are still the preferred method for commercial harvest
- ....and our number one discovery was it is very easy to capture Y.o.Y. Asian Carp in the 50mm through 100mm size range.
IF an agency wants to control or limit the effects of these fish, then the best method we can see, is to take them out of the environmental system BEFORE they can spawn. It is much easier to take 100,000 50mm fish out of the system, then to wait and try to take 100,000 20 lb. fish out of the system.
Between our Paupiers and Mamou net, we have two gears that can and will do just that. The Flat Wing Electric Paupier additionally, WILL harvest adult fish to the tune of 1500 lbs. per 15 minute tows ( on the average), when the fish are concentrated in water under 8' deep.
The Mamou net can take tens of thousands of Y.o.Y. Check out the Mamou Net in the next section of this website.
